Who was Jimmy Hoffa?

Born February 14, 1913, Brazil, Indiana, US. Disappeared July 30, 1975, Bloomfield Hills, near Detroit , Michigan.
American labour leader who served as president of the international of Brotherhood of Teamsters from 1975 to 1971 and was one of the most contreversial labour organizers of his time, known throughout the trucking industry as a tough and knowledgeable bargainer.
Hoffa successfully centralized administration and bargaining in the international office of the union.
He also played a key role in the first national freight hauling agreement.
Hoffa nevertheless survived a series of government prosecutions until 1967 when he entered the federal prison in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, to begin 13 years sentence for jury tampering , fraud and conspiracy.
On july 30, 1975, he disappeared from a restaurant in suburban Detroit under circumstances that have never been fully determined he was legally declared " presumed died" in 1982.

This book is written like a murder mystery.
After the tense beginning, the book goes back in time to capture Sheeran's life, his childhood, his teenage years, his 411 days of service during  WW2 where he carried out executions of many captured germans soldiers, his gradual entry into the Italian mob and his days as official in the Teamsters Union.
The author makes some interesting conclusions about the role of the mob in the Kennedy assassination.
This is a very entertaining book.
My purpose in reading this book was to find the real story behind the death of Jimmy Hoffa.
When this story first broke, the public suspected Hoffa was muredred.
But there was no body and nobody talked.
I had mixed feelings about this book.
There were some parts I absolutely loved. But if I am honest, it seemed to go on and on and I was relieved that it finally ended.
I am looking forward to watching the movie adaptation.
